Horseshoe crabs are going to invade Wake Forest via Millennium Academy next month

Millennium Academy is set to open its doors for the first time in about a month, and they'll have live horseshoe crabs when they do. They're going to be part of the live

The academy is a new school on Capcom Avenue focusing on early childhood education through kindergarten. Administrator Adriane Young keeps a blog about the school, mostly detailing the school's opening, and recently announced the addition of the crabs there. She's even posted a video of the marine animal in an exhibit at the aquarium in Myrtle Beach.

Our students and children visiting our living science area will experience these timid sea creatures in our shallow indoor lagoon. They will have the opportunity to feed and watch these animals grow. The Horseshoe Crab is a new addition to our other exotic animals.

In addition to offering pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, the school also offers enrichment programs for kids ages 5 to 12, birthday parties, and weekend functions.

Wake Forest Pump It Up closed 'temporarily'

Triangle Mom2Mom, an auxiliary site of the N&O, has a blog post saying that the Wake Forest Pump It Up location on Capcom Avenue is closed. It may be temporary, according to the post, but confirmation is pending. Pump It Up rents inflatable boucing structures for parties and other occasions. There is another location in Raleigh

Carnival at Kohl's for the kids

Driving rains washed away the Wake Forest Police Department's earlier attempt to hold its annual fund-raising carnival. Despite a couple afternoons of rain this week, better weather is predicted for this week's carnival. (Click "read more" for hours.)
