Blood Drive @ St. Catherine's

The American Red Cross is having a blood drive sponsered by the Knights of Columbus at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest today from 2:30 - 7:00 PM.

What does Wake Forest taste like?

Seems like an odd question, doesn't it? It's the question asked by a friendly female voice in the spoken-word ad for Taste of Wake Forest, which will take place on Saturday, May 23, noon to 7 p.m. The full schedule is available by following the above link.

Lazy man's garden?

Not that Wake Forest's Ted Rogers is a lazy man, but imagine a garden that doesn't require any soil prep. Wouldn't be nice not to amend and amend that hard clay we have around here?

WRAL caught up with Rogers recently to talk about his straw bale garden. He lined up a bunch of inexpensive and readily available bales and shows how his tomato plants produced a bumper crop in past seasons.

Seminary student on a mission to help orphans

Missionary work is something most students at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary look forward to, and Daniel Wood (@DeeDooDaniel) is no exception. This summer he plans to lead a mission to South Indian state of Kerala to work with orphans and to do some renovations and construction on the orphanages.

Fish Fry-day

A good ol' fish fry is under way at Wake Forest United Methodist Church today. Proceeds support the various outreach programs and missions of the church.

Cost is $8 a plate and goes until 7 p.m. today. The church is at the corner of S. Main Street and 98 Bypass.
