Using Google Buzz? Now you can Buzz our stories with one click

Google released a new feature of Gmail on Tuesday called Buzz, and it allows Gmail users to post status updates, links, and photos within their Gmail inbox. The feature is similar to Twitter, Facebook, and FriendFeed, with replies, likes, shares, etc.

To give you the ability to share our stories with your friends, all you need to do it click on the "Buzz It!" icon at the top of each post and it will open a small window to share this link, if you're already logged into Gmail. You may need to fix some of your settings in Google Reader for this to work, and be sure the "Add to Shared Items" box is checked.

The link will be added to your shared items in Google Reader and to your Buzz stream. Enjoy!

Hands for Haiti is presented by the Creative Arts Network for Community Action (CANCA). All proceeds go to Haiti relief efforts through Hearts with Haiti and the American Red Cross.

  • New login options

It is now much easier to login or create an account here at Destination Wake Forest. No more worrying about remembering yet another username/password combination if you already are a member of Facebook or Twitter. We've also moved the login area to the right sidebar to make it much easier to find.

Users will now see that they can login using their existing Facebook or Twitter accounts. Just click on either button and follow the steps. If you are logged in at the time, each service will direct you through the process. Facebook users will have a seamless experience, while Twitter users will be directed to a page that asks them to "Deny" or "Allow" access.

Why would you want to do this? Well, for starters, there's the benefit of not having yet another login and profile to manage. It also makes it easier to share links with these networks.

Own a piece of town history and make a donation to a good cause all in one purchase

Do you have a blank space on one of your walls just screaming out for a green vertical banner? Are you one of those obsessive flag people who hangs a new flag for every holiday or season?

If so, the town has a deal for you.

For just $20, area residents can buy one of the green banners that adorned the light poles around the downtown area for the past year in honor of the town's centennial celebration. The banners read: "Wake Forest Centennial 1909-2009".

In turn, the town will donate the entire proceeds to Project H.O.P.E. (Helping Others by Providing Electricity), which is a town-created fund to help residents pay their utility bill.

The banners can be purchased at Town Hall, 401 E. Elm Street. Cash, check, Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Call town information officer Bill Crabtree at 554-6196 for more information.

Report community issues with See, Click, Fix

Have you seen something around town you think needs to be repaired or improved? Is there a really nasty pothole or a traffic signal that seems too short for traffic to flow well? Just click on the map below and follow the instructions. The report will be filed with See, Click, Fix and hopefully the correct government agency will address the issue.

If you click on one of the map pins and agree that something needs attention, you can vote in favor of it in one click.
